my commercials an old mexican commercial for something called"piperidol". its entitled "historia de flaquito panzón". i dont know what piperidol is for. here a list of the different shots used:

Preparation for Final Project

for my project i want to make a story of some sort. i really dont know what its going to be about, but thats what i want to do. ive always been intersted in movies that film ordinary events in such a way that they seem very beautiful and interesting, so i want to do something like that. i also want to do something with the nature of reality and how different people will perceive the same event in different ways because of their perspective. so now i just need to get an event to center this story on.
by next week i definitely want to have a plot, like a storyboard or something.

for this assignment we were asked to make a podcast about nudity. i did some thinking and decided that i wanted to express the concept of nudity through sound (as opposed to talking about nudity, doing a skit, etc). i thought about why people wear clothes, and what the difference between being naked and clothed is, and came up with the idea that one of the most basic reasons for clothing is protection. physical protection from the world, and also mental protection, because when you are naked you are mentally exposed as well. to express this idea i recorded different noises ranging from hard and loud to soft and quiet. i remove the sounds gradually as the piece is stripped and exposed. to reinforce this idea i play the sounds of getting undressed - unzipping, pants dropping, the sound of fabric, etc - to cue in the removal of layers. at the end, the only noise left is the sound of skin rubbing against skin.

I tracked the commercials played on CNBC for five hours and categorized them into 5 types - business, show, store, infomercial, or product, depending on what each was advertising. I then gave each kind an icon. Dollar Bill = Business TV = Show Shopping Bags = Store Lightbulb = Infomercial Cash Register = Product Next I made a kind of digital flipbook where you can see the progression as I put down one icon, took a photo, put down the next icon, took a photo, etc and uploaded all 141 photos into imovie as still frames. *For some reason imovie cut off the very edges of my photos, so it looks a little strange. Also, watch for the upsidedown frame near the middle - somewhere in transferring it to quicktime it got flipped.
